and the fitting of low level lighting.
Our toughened polyurethane skirting board is made by Orac Decor n.v. and not be confused with cheap DIY plastic skirting board, pvc skirting board
or DIY uPVC skirting. House Martin skirting boards will not warp, crack or rot like conventional wood skirting board or MDF skirting board, and has
a more traditional feel than PVCu skirting or cheaper plastic skirting.

Ready for immediate use: Orac Decor skirting board supplied by House Martin is available from stock and is supplied pre-primed
ready for the top coat of paint. Wooden skirting board needs preparation, knotting, sanding, priming and undercoat prior to installation.
Clean: Orac Decor skirting board only requires adhesive to install, perfect for refurbishment and new build projects. Installing
wood and MDF skirting board is creates considerable amounts of dust and mess. Refurbishments using MDF and wood skirting board can cause damage
the existing decoration.
Easy to install skirting: Orac Decor skirting board due to its lightweight only requires adhesive to install; there is no need
for mechanical fixings as with wood skirting board. Orac Décor skirting board can be installed against any type of floor.
Time saving: Orac Decor skirting board can be installed faster. Installing wood skirting board can be a difficult job taking
time and needing additional skills.
Fast finishing: Orac Decor skirting board is supplied with a primer coat of paint ready for the chosen final coat. Orac Decor
board has a smooth surface and which does not absorb paint, so only the final top coat is required.
Strong & shock resistant: Orac Decor skirting board is tough, hard and difficult to break.
No cracks: Orac Decor 'Extra Fix' fuses the skirting board joints to produce strong joints which will not open with time. Wood
skirting board joints move with ageing resulting in cracks in the fitted skirting board joints.
Suitable in humid environments: Orac Decor skirting board is impervious to moisture. Wooden skirting board is not suitable for
humid and exterior environments. MdF skirting board will soak up moisture and expand.
'Flexi'skirting board for curved walls: Orac Decor 'Flexi' skirting board is a standard product. Orac Decor
Rigid and Flexible skirting board can be used together providing an excellent solution to rooms with curved walls and bays. To install curved
wood skirting board requires an onsite expert for installation.
Cabling: The void behind many of the skirting board designs can hide unsightly cabling. Check the rear void of the skirting
board on the product pages.
Plastic skirting boards are ideally suited as bathroom skirting, kitchen skirting and utility room skirting. For any room with hard floors on which water is used to wash plastic skirting is the best option. MdF skirting and wood chip skirting are particularly unsuited to these floors as they soak up moisture and expand. Wooden skirting will also be damaged by water. Plastic skirting however is completely impervious to moisture. Our hydro adhesive, FDP700, is formulated for our skirting boards and is even suitable for exterior use. The jointing compound, FX210, fuses the skirting board joints forming a strong joint, which is yet another reason to use plastic skirting. Where the skirting board is expected to come into contact with moisture our plastic skirting is ideal.
